If you are new to Back to School Sessions here is a little more information to prepare for booking your session.

Kindergarten

I give extra time for our Kinders because it might take a little bit longer for them to feel comfortable. To help put them at ease there are four activities designed to help us play and have fun.

First I capture them walking up to the K3 Building with a parent or sibling, then we share jokes in front of the K3 Building. After this we are old friends and we go to my school desk for them to write their name on the chalkboard and they get to show me a few of their special books.

1st through 6th Grade

This is a short and simple session that takes place in front of the building your child will be in during the school year.

I only use ten minutes to capture an authentic portrait to mark the start of the school year.

This year will be my first set of 6th graders that I have photographed since their Kindergarten year. It has been such a privilege to watch this group grow up in their elementary years.

In fact, for some of my families we continue on the tradition through junior high and high school.

Siblings / Multiple Campuses

Each child must have their own session booked.

If you have twins that are entering Kindergarten please book a Kindergarten session + 1st through 6th grade session. This gives us plenty of time for each to have the full experience.

For all other siblings simply book the appropriate session for each child. The last five minutes of your full session time I capture a few sibling photographs of all school age children.

If siblings are at multiple campuses please book the last session time available so we can add in travel time.
